Triple Screen Angle Calculator

Find how far to turn your side screens so each one faces your eyes. You also get the inside angle and a tape-measure check, so you can set it up without a protractor.

Why this is the right angle

Picture your three screens as three sides of a shape around your head. When each side screen is turned in by the angle one screen covers from your seat, every screen sits at the same distance from your eyes and faces you square-on. Lines that cross from one screen to the next, like the pit wall or a kerb, stay straight.

Turn the sides in too little and you lose some of your view at the edges. Turn them in too much and the side images look bent where they meet the centre screen.

How to set the angle without a protractor

  1. Place the centre screen at your measured distance, square to your seat.
  2. Swing both side screens in until the inside edges touch the centre screen's edges.
  3. Measure straight across from the outer corner of the left screen to the outer corner of the right screen. Adjust both sides evenly until it matches the tape check value in the calculator.
  4. Sit down and check: each side screen should look like it is facing you directly.
The inside angle is the angle between the centre screen and a side screen, measured on your side. If a stand or app asks for the angle between screens, check whether it wants the turn-in angle or this inside angle. They add up to 180°.

The formula

For flat screens, with screen width w, the bezel on one edge b, and eye distance d:

side angle = 2 × atan( (w/2 + b) ÷ d )

Example: three 27-inch 16:9 screens are 59.8 cm wide each. At 60 cm with thin bezels, the side angle is 2 × atan(29.9 ÷ 60) ≈ 53°. With 8 mm bezels it rises to about 54°. For curved screens the calculator uses the straight line between the screen's edges and how far those edges come toward you. The method page shows every step.

Choosing triple screen size and distance

Bigger screens or a shorter distance give a wider total view at real scale. Three 27-inch screens at 60 cm cover about 159° in total; three 32-inch screens at 70 cm cover about 161°. Use the setup planner on the main calculator to see the distance you need for the view you want.

Once your angle is set, use the game pages for the exact values to enter: iRacing, ACC, Assetto Corsa and Le Mans Ultimate.

Triple screen angle FAQ

What angle should triple monitors be for sim racing?

Turn each side screen in by the angle one screen covers from your seat. For three 27-inch screens at 60 cm that is about 53°. Enter your own screens above for the exact value.

Do bezels change the angle?

Yes, slightly. Bezels make each screen's frame wider, so the side screens need to turn in a little more. Enter the bezel of one edge and the calculator includes both bezels at each join.

Is the inside angle the same as the side angle?

No. The side angle is how far the screen is turned in from flat. The inside angle is between the two screens, on your side. They add up to 180°.

Does this work with curved triple screens?

Yes. Choose your curve rating and the calculator uses the curved panel geometry.
